Maggi is a popular brand of instant noodles that originated in Switzerland and has since become a staple in many countries around the world. Maggi noodles are known for their quick and easy preparation, making them a go-to meal option for people on the go or for those who want a quick snack. Here is a simple and delicious Maggi recipe that you can try at home:
Ingredients:
1 packet of Maggi noodles
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon of oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
1 green chilli, finely chopped (optional)
1/2 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon of red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions:
In a pan, heat one tablespoon of oil over medium heat. After it becomes hot, add cumin and let it splutter.
Add finely chopped onion and sauté for a few minutes until it turns golden brown.
Add the garlic-ginger paste and continue to fry for a minute or till the raw smell disappears.
Add finely chopped tomato and green chilli (if using) and cook for a few minutes until the tomato turns soft.
Add all the spices – red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt – and mix well.
Add one cup of water and bring it to a boil.
Once the water comes to a boil, add the Maggi noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the noodles are soft.
Turn off the heat and let the Maggi sit for a minute.
Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
Variations:
Vegetable Maggi: Add chopped vegetables like carrots, peas, capsicum and beans along with the spices to make it more nutritious.
Egg Maggi: Boil an egg and chop it into small pieces. Add it to the Maggi along with the spices for an added protein boost.
Cheese Maggi: Add grated cheese on top of the Maggi while it's still hot and mix well. The cheese will melt and give it a creamy texture.
Masala Maggi: Add a packet of Maggi masala (included in the Maggi packet) along with the spices for an extra burst of flavour.
Tips:
Don't overcook the Maggi noodles as they can become mushy.
Use a non-stick pan to avoid the Maggi sticking to the bottom of the pan.
If you like it spicy, add more red chilli powder or green chillies.
You can also add a tablespoon of tomato ketchup or soy sauce for an added flavour.
To make it healthier, add some spinach or kale leaves along with the vegetables.
In conclusion, Maggi is a quick and easy meal option that can be customized to your taste preferences. With a few simple ingredients, you can make a delicious and filling Maggi dish that can be enjoyed any time of the day.
