poha recipe-How did you make this

Poha is a popular breakfast dish in India, made with flattened rice, also known as beaten rice. It is a light and nutritious dish that can be easily prepared in just a few minutes. Here's a simple recipe for making Poha:

Ingredients:

2 cups poha (flattened rice)

1 medium-sized onion, chopped

1 medium-sized tomato, chopped

1 small green chili, chopped

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 teaspoon mustard seeds

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)

1 tablespoon oil

1/4 cup peanuts

1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped

1 lemon, cut into wedges

Instructions:

Rinse the poha in a strainer under running water for a few seconds, then soak it in enough water to cover it. Let it soak for 5-10 minutes until it softens. Drain any excess water and set it aside.

In a large pan or wok or skillet, heat the sweet oil over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds and sauté for a few seconds until they start to splutter.

Add the chopped onion and green chili to the pan and sauté until the onion turns translucent.

Add the chopped tomato and sauté for another minute or two until the tomato softens.

Add the turmeric powder and salt to the pan and mix well.

Add the soaked poha to the pan and mix everything together gently, making sure not to break the poha.

Add the peanuts to the pan and mix them in with the poha.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the poha is cooked.

Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and then serve hot with lemon wedges.

Tips:

Adjust the amount of green chili according to your taste.

You can add vegetables like peas, carrots, and potatoes to make the poha more nutritious and colorful.

If the poha is too dry, sprinkle a little water on top and mix well.

You can also sprinkle some sev or roasted gram flour noodles on top for extra crunch.

Poha is a versatile dish that can be enjoyed for breakfast, as a snack, or even as a light meal. It's easy to make and can be customized to suit your taste preferences. Try this recipe and enjoy a delicious bowl of Poha today!
