paneer tikka-How did you make this

Paneer tikka is a popular Indian appetizer that is loved by people all over the world. It is made by marinating cubes of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) in a mixture of spices and yogurt, and then grilling them until they are slightly charred on the outside and soft on the inside. In this recipe, we will show you how to make paneer tikka at home that is juicy, flavorful, and easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

500g Paneer (Indian cottage cheese)

1 cup plain yogurt

1 tbsp ginger paste

1 tbsp garlic paste

1 tbsp red chili powder

1 tbsp coriander powder

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp garam masala powder

1 tsp chaat masala

Salt to taste

1 tbsp lemon juice

2 tbsp oil

1 onion, cut into cubes

1 green bell pepper, cut into cubes

1 red bell pepper, cut into cubes

Instructions:

Start by preparing the paneer. Cut all the paneer into small cubes and then keep it aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala, salt, lemon juice, and oil. Mix well to combine.

Add the paneer cubes to the marinade and mix well, making sure each cube is coated with the marinade. Cover the bowl with some cling wrap and refrigerate it for at least 1-2 hours or overnight for best results.

After marinating the paneer, preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).

Thread the paneer cubes, onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper onto skewers. You can alternate the paneer with the vegetables to make the skewers more colorful.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the skewers on the sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the paneer is slightly charred on the outside and cooked through on the inside.

Remove the skewers from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or ketchup on the side.

Tips:

To make the paneer more flavorful, you can add some kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) to the marinade.

If you don't have an oven or a grill, you can cook the paneer skewers on a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Brush some oil on the pan before adding the skewers to prevent them from sticking.

If you are using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before using to prevent them from burning in the oven.

You can add more vegetables to the skewers, such as mushrooms, tomatoes, or zucchini, to make them more nutritious and filling.

If you want to make the paneer tikka spicier, you can increase the amount of red chili powder or add some chopped green chilies to the marinade.

You can use store-bought paneer or make your own paneer at home by boiling milk and adding lemon juice or vinegar to curdle it. Strain the curdled milk through a cheesecloth and press it to remove excess water. The resulting paneer can be used to make various Indian dishes, including paneer tikka.

Paneer tikka is a versatile dish that can be served as an appetizer
