hummus recipe-How did you make this

Hummus is a delicious Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and olive oil. It is easy to make at home and is a great healthy snack or appetizer. Here is a simple recipe for hummus that you can make in just a few minutes:

Ingredients:

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained or rinsed

3 tablespoons tahini

2 cloves garlic, minced

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Water as needed

Instructions:

Start by draining or washing the chickpeas in a sieve. Then, add them to a food processor or blender.

Add in the tahini, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Blend the mixture for about 30 seconds, until everything is well combined.

While the food processor is running, slowly add the olive or sweet oil. Keep blending the mixture for about 1 minute, until it becomes smooth and creamy.

Add in the ground cumin, salt, and pepper to taste. (Blend everything together for another 30 seconds.)

If the hummus is too thick, you can add water as needed, a tablespoon at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning as necessary.

Transfer the hummus to a serving dish and drizzle with olive oil. You can also sprinkle with paprika, parsley, or any other toppings you like.

Serve with pita bread, crackers, vegetables, or anything else you like.

Tips:

To make the hummus extra smooth, you can peel the skins off the chickpeas before blending them. This is a time-consuming process, but it can be worth it if you want a super creamy hummus.

If you don't have tahini, you can make a substitute by toasting sesame seeds in a dry pan until golden brown, then blending them with a bit of oil until they form a paste.

If you want to add some extra flavor to your hummus, you can try adding roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, or olives to the mix. Just blend them in with the other ingredients.

Hummus can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. Just keep it in an airtight container and give it a stir before serving.

You can also freeze hummus for longer storage. Just transfer it to a freezer-safe container and store for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before using.

If you're making a large batch of hummus, you can use a stand mixer instead of a food processor or blender. Just use the paddle attachment and mix everything together until smooth.

If you like a tangier hummus, you can add more lemon juice to the mix. If you like mild taste, you can use less.

You can adjust the amount of garlic to your liking. If you're not a fan of raw garlic, you can use roasted garlic instead.

Experiment with different herbs and spices to find your favorite hummus flavor. Cilantro, parsley, paprika, and cayenne pepper are all good options.
