bhindi recipe-How did you make this

Bhindi, also known as okra, is a popular vegetable in Indian cuisine that is often used to make delicious curries, stir-fries, and side dishes. Here is a simple recipe for bhindi that you can try at home:

Ingredients:

500g fresh okra (bhindi), washed and dried

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 onion, finely chopped

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 teaspoon garlic paste

2 green chilies, finely chopped

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin powder

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

Salt to taste

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Begin by trimming the ends of the okra and slicing them into thin rounds. Set aside.

Heat the sweet oil in a large non-stick pan on a low flame. Once hot, add the cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns translucent, around 2-3 minutes.

Add the ginger and garlic paste and sauté for another minute until the raw smell disappears.

Add the chopped green chilies and sliced okra and mix well.

Add cumin powder, turmeric, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Mix everything well, so the okra is evenly coated with the spices.

Add salt to taste and continue cooking for another 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the okra is cooked and tender.

Once the okra is cooked, add the lemon juice and mix well.

Now turn off the flame and after that garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice or chapati.

Tips:

Make sure the okra is dry before slicing it to prevent it from becoming slimy.

If you prefer your okra to be crispy, you can shallow fry it before adding it to the pan.

You can also add tomatoes or potatoes to this dish for added flavor and texture.

Adjust the amount of green chilies and red chili powder to your desired level of spiciness.

Squeezing some lemon juice over the okra just before serving helps to balance the flavors and adds a nice tanginess to the dish.

Bhindi is a versatile vegetable that can be used in many different ways in Indian cooking. It can be stuffed, roasted, grilled, or fried, depending on your preference. This recipe is a simple yet delicious way to enjoy the flavors of okra, and it is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
